Job Description

The Totani Operator checks and verifies the quality and quantity of finished products. This is a 2nd shift opportunity.
Essential Job Duties:
Essential job functions and duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Verify tooling and materials are available before starting the set-up. Achieve optimal set-up, change-over, and clean-up time. Operate at high speed without compromising job quality and crew safety. Properly label the quantity and description of the finished product. Adjust as needed to obtain company standard approval. Produce jobs at a quality level that meets or exceeds the customers' satisfaction. Minimize unnecessary waste and spoilage of good pouches and other supplies. Perform routine maintenance/repairs and cleaning of the Totani machine. Maintain organization and cleanliness in the work area. Periodically pull samples throughout production run, inspect and test pouches to verify quality. Make appropriate adjustments to maintain the consistency and quality of company standards. Provide technical training and guidance for other employees. Follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Make continuous improvement in the execution of all tasks.
Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, education and/or abilities required for the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization. (Bilingual English/Spanish a plus). Knowledge of general pressroom operations. Operating a Totani Press is a plus . Outstanding problem solving, time management, interpersonal and customer service skills a must. Effective planning and organizational skills relating to folding and gluing operations. Proficient math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, and units of measure; ability to count accurately. Proficient computer skills and knowledge applicable to the job (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Power-Point, Internet, e-mail), as well as proficiency in the use of in-house programs and applications. Strong knowledge of production methods, systems, and continuous-improvement processes. Color vision acuity to detect various customer color codes. Proven ability to read and understand written instructions and job tickets. Ability to accurately complete job-generated forms, reports and enter all information in Label Traxx. The appropriate knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position are achievable through the following combination of education, work experience and training: High School Diploma or equivalent GED Certificate; and Five (5) or more years of work experience in Flexo Machine operations including a Totani Press. Pay Range - $22-$25 an hour with a $0.35 2nd shift differential. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company.
