A Day in the Life You arrive to your press, review the job ticket, and start your setup: mount plates, dial in ink and water balance, and lock in color. Once the press is humming at optimal speed, you're watching densities and registration like a hawk—making on-the-fly adjustments to keep every sheet on spec. If a defect appears, you catch it fast, correct, and continue. Between runs, you change plates, blankets, and cylinders; clean fountains; recalibrate systems; and document counts, makereadies, and waste with precision. Before you leave, you brief the next shift on status and any production concerns so they can hit the ground running. What You'll Own Full setup, operation, and care of the offset press to meet quality and schedule targets Plate, blanket, and cylinder changes; ink fountain and unit cleaning as needed Ink/water balance, color matching, and color set adjustments throughout the run Continuous quality checks, defect detection, and corrective action Machine adjustments to sustain throughput and minimize downtime Routine recalibration and preventative/predictive productivity maintenance Accurate tracking of counts, makereadies, and waste Clear communication of job status at shift handoff and timely escalation of issues to the Team Lead Strict adherence to safety practices, including lock-out/tag-out and HazCom What You Bring High school diploma or GED 3+ years operating offset presses with a strong grasp of lithography, color management, and finishing Mechanical aptitude and the ability to read job instructions accurately Comfort with both computer interfaces and mechanical systems Knowledge of predictive and productive maintenance approaches Focus on speed, quality, and uptime Physical ability to stand for long periods (including 10-12 hours on concrete), bend, perform repetitive motions, and regularly lift 25 lbs (occasionally up to 40 lbs) Reliability, punctuality, accountability for quality, and strong interpersonal communication—able to work independently and as part of a team Locations 1174 Elkton Farm Road, Forest, Virginia 24551, United States 1805 East Washington Street, Mount Pleasant, Iowa 52641, United States Work Setting Onsite Compensation $20-$28 Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance; retirement savings plan; short- and long-term disability; life insurance; EAP; PTO; holidays; sick and volunteer days; and tuition assistance.
