Montana Timber Products — Caldwell, Idaho Montana Timber Products is an industry leader in milling and staining natural wood siding, shipped throughout North America. As our company continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced painter to lead and elevate our finishing team. Position Summary The Painting Lead Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the finishing/staining department, ensuring consistent product quality, coordinating workflow with production schedules, and directly supervising and mentoring the painting team. This role combines hands-on finishing expertise with team leadership and process improvement. The Supervisor is directly involved in creating and monitoring custom finishes and performing this work with our samples department. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the painting/finishing crew Train and coach team members Ensure all finished product meets company quality standards before it moves downstream Monitor and maintain finishing equipment Manage inventory of stains, coatings, and finishing supplies Enforce safety protocols Troubleshoot quality issues Collaborate with production planning, quality control, and shipping teams to meet delivery timelines Meet production timelines Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient finishing work area Assist with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions for finishing team members as needed

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in industrial/production painting or wood finishing Strong knowledge of staining and coating application methods Understanding of color matching and quality inspection standards Experience with finishing equipment maintenance and troubleshooting Demonstrated leadership skills — ability to train, motivate, and hold a team accountable Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Comfortable working around industrial equipment and in a manufacturing environment What We Offer Pay rate is Dependent On Experience, likely starting in the range of $22
