Job Description
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older and legally authorized to work in the United States.
- 1+ year of manufacturing or production experience
- Experience operating production or manufacturing equipment
- Basic understanding of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Previous experience in printing, bindery, or post-press operations is a plus
- Basic math, reading, and comprehension skills
- Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
- Experience operating a powered hand truck/pallet jack
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced production environmentOverview (Post-Press / Bindery Machine Operator)We are seeking a Bindery / Post-Press Production Operator to support routine manual and automated post-press production activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up production equipment and gather required materials and supplies efficiently
- Operate basic bindery equipment, including a cutter, while maintaining safe and productive operations
- Monitor equipment and stock levels and report or address basic equipment issues as needed
- Review job orders, instructions, and specifications to ensure accurate production
- Stamp, proofread, label, sort, and inspect customer orders for accuracy and quality
- Verify product quantity, ink coverage, placement, and other specifications against order requirements
- Use basic computer systems to enter, review, and track production information
- Inspect completed products for defects or errors and ensure they match order specifications
- Use powered hand trucks to move materials and finished products as required
- Maintain production areas by following company policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Load trucks and prepare orders for shipment according to established procedures
- Monitor binding margins and ensure proper placement of inserts and tagboards
- Ensure proper labeling, sorting, and compliance with postal and delivery requirements
- Manifest orders according to instructions provided in the shop order package or manifest system
- Support engraving and processing of special orders when required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
