Job Description

Job Summary:
The Shift Finishing Supervisor (SFS) oversees day-to-day passivation, testing, packing and shipping operations to ensure safety, quality, and production goals are met. This role manages production leads and a team of passivation, Helium Test, Marking, Inspection, Packing and Shipping personnel, and support staff, ensuring efficient workflow, proper resource allocation, and compliance with company and regulatory standards. The SFS acts as a key link between management and shop floor employees, promoting teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Primary Job Duties:
Supervise day-to-day operations to meet production targets Take ownership of department Key Performance Initiatives, maintaining real time tracking, owning recovery actions, and driving improvement for areas of concern Ensure that material, tools and equipment are available and in good working order Coordinate with Shift Manufacturing Supervisor (SMS) to ensure proper flow of material through the process and on time shipment of all products Coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering to minimize downtime Train, coach, mentor, evaluate performance and provide feedback for development and improvement of the leads Maintain a visible, proactive presence on the production floor to coach and drive performance in real time, with frequent touchpoints with leads to clarify priorities and targets Ensure optimal staffing across the department, and flex labor in real time to address bottlenecks and maintain balanced workflow Conduct daily SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) meetings with direct reports, engineering, planning and management; co-lead shift huddles to communicate priorities; and escalate issues to cross functional teams Manage quality, ensuring adherence to work instructions, owning corrective actions for the shift, and escalating high impact issues Enforce quality and safety policies, conduct audits of same, and ensure proper PPE and equipment usage Coordinate shift transition and ensure continuity between first and second shifts (where applicable) Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for safety and quality incidents Support lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives Position may include other duties and responsibilities assigned by management
Primary Competencies:
Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong leadership skills and ability to coach and mentor a team Detail oriented with consistent execution of tasks and processes Proficient with computer systems (email, ERP, Microsoft) Ability to read and interpret drawings
Qualifications:
Minimum five years prior experience working within a manufacturing / fabrication setting Two or more years of leadership experience High school diploma or GED required; college degree is a plus Basic computer skills for work order tracking and reporting.

Fast-paced manufacturing environment. Requires standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods. May involve exposure to noise and varying temperatures. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. 4x10 scheduled is adhered to by hourly associates. Expectation is that the Shift Finishing Supervisor is available / present prior to the beginning and end of the shift. Additionally, some extra time may be required on Fridays when directed by the Production Manager or when personnel in areas of responsibility are present.

Attendance on a regular, consistent basis is mandatory.

Salary Range:
$75,000-$85,000, depending upon experience •Sign-on Bonus! •
