Printing Concepts operates production facilities located in Cleveland, OH and Stow, OH. This position is located at the Stow, OH facility. We are looking for operators on 2nd shift.. As a member of the TRAXIUM group of companies, a Bindery Operator will work in conjunction with the production team to produce finished printed products of the highest level of quality and with an emphasis on efficiency in a time-sensitive manufacturing process. As part of our bindery production team, this specific position will have the following job requirements and responsibilities: Set up and operate automatic bindery equipment to produce books, manuals, wire-bound and other bound products. Our bindery equipment includes, but is not limited to: Programmable Cutting Systems, Folders; Collators; Saddle Stitchers, 3 Knife Trimmers, Shrink Wrap Systems, Drilling Systems and many more pieces of finishing equipment Report any concerns to ensure that both technical and workflow issues are addressed and optimized to the Bindery Manager Able to trouble-shoot and problem solve on difficult projects. Ensures that saddle-stitching equipment is optimized and operating within required standards in terms of process controls, planned maintenance schedules, make ready and running standards. Able to read and interpret information from the bindery paperwork: job jacket, layouts, & Digital Dylux. Achieves competency and meets standards in regard to make-ready and run times as established by the company. Communicates with Bindery Manager on validity of standards and expectations from the project plan. Able to produce high quality work in the allotted time frames. Responsible to coach, train, and direct any General Workers, Apprentice Bindery employees, and temporary labor in executing tasks when they are assisting on the stitching equipment. Operates other bindery equipment when necessary to maintain the flexibility of the bindery department. Recommends equipment repairs, parts and supplies as needed. Coordinates pass-off of information between adjacent shifts, with the goal of minimizing downtime and increasing productivity through information sharing. Participates in specific continuous improvement initiatives. Ensures that their work area and the rest of the bindery remain clean and tidy.
