Job Description

Just In Time Staffing is partnering with a local manufacturing facility to recruit dependable and detail-oriented candidates for a Hydraulic Press Operator position. Position Summary The Hydraulic Press Operator will operate a large hydraulic press used to form and cure company products. The operator will be responsible for setting up materials, monitoring curing conditions, inspecting finished products, and making adjustments to ensure products meet required specifications. Responsibilities Operate a large hydraulic press for forming and curing product parts, generally producing sheet materials ranging from 1/64" to 3" thickness . Set up the press for sheet materials, including: Setting the required finished-sheet thickness. Adjusting curing temperature. Setting the appropriate curing time cycle. Making adjustments to compensate for variable conditions. Check "jell time" before the first use of liquid mix to ensure it falls within the specified range. Report out-of-range "jell time" results to the appropriate supervisor for adjustment. Lay out glass sheeting in the prescribed order. Apply designated amounts of liquid resin and spread evenly to achieve proper coverage. Insert materials into the press and properly center them. Close and operate the press through the required curing cycle. Open the press and safely remove the platen at the completion of the cycle. Use a micrometer to check finished-part thickness. Adjust closed press height as necessary to achieve the specified thickness.
Inspect molded sheets for:
Visual appearance. Completeness of fill or wet-out. Uniformity of surfaces. Voids or delaminations. Trim edges using appropriate hand tools. Blow off and clean platens as necessary. Use a chain hoist to elevate resin mix and other materials into the operating position. Identify and report defective materials and unusual conditions to the foreman. Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area and equipment. Perform other similar or related duties as assigned. Requirements Ability to lift 45-50 lbs. Basic reading skills. Basic shop math skills. Knowledge of how to use a micrometer. Knowledge of how to use a ruler. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products. Ability to follow work instructions and safety procedures. Ability to work safely around heavy machinery and manufacturing equipment. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, comfortable working with measurements, and able to learn and follow precise production procedures.
