Bindery Operator Prisma Austin - 3.0 Austin, TX Job Details $19 - $25 an hour 9 hours ago Qualifications Machine setup Folding (paper finishing) Equipment setup (production tasks) Machine operation Maintenance (die setup procedure) Paper binding Document binding Paper cutting machines Printing facility experience Full Job Description About the Role Prisma is hiring an experienced Bindery Operator to independently set up and operate bindery equipment to produce high-quality finished products. This position requires hands-on experience with cutter, folder, and stitcher setup, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and strong understanding of commercial printing bindery processes. General warehouse, packaging, or unrelated machine operator experience does not replace the commercial printing experience required for this opening. Key Responsibilities Set up, adjust, and operate bindery equipment to meet job specifications Independently perform machine setups on cutters, folders, and stitchers to meet job requirements and production standards Read and interpret job tickets, layouts, and production specifications Measure and verify folds, cuts, page order, alignment, and finished dimensions Inspect work throughout production to ensure quality standards are met Troubleshoot machine and process issues and make necessary adjustments Maintain production schedules and meet deadlines Record production counts, waste, and completed work Perform routine maintenance and keep equipment clean and in good working order Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area Communicate production issues, quality concerns, or delays to bindery leadership Experience with foil stamping, die cutting, and gluing is a plus Qualifications Required Skills & Experience Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a bindery operator in a commercial printing environment Demonstrated ability to independently set up cutters, folders, and stitchers Strong working knowledge of bindery equipment and finishing processes Ability to read and understand job tickets and production specifications High attention to detail and commitment to quality Reliable attendance Preferred Experience Experience with high-end finishing, specialty print, or packaging work Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Experience working with tight tolerances and premium substrates Success in This Role Looks Like Accurate and efficient machine setups with minimal downtime Consistent production of high-quality finished products Jobs completed on schedule with minimal rework Dependable, consistent performance Why Prisma Prisma is a full-service commercial printing company offering offset, digital, and wide format printing.
