Job Description

Are you looking to work for an innovative Houston-based design and build firm that creates high-complexity, large-scale installations for museums and other themed environments? If so, we are seeking a proactive Finishing Lead to oversee the final aesthetic stages of production. This role is a blend of high-level project management and hands-on craftsmanship. You will be responsible for ensuring that every project leaving the shop meets elite quality standards while maintaining strict production schedules in a high-energy environment.
salary:
$52,000 - $72,800 per yearshift: Firstwork hours: 8 AM - 5

High SchoolResponsibilities Provide advanced knowledge of high-end finishing materials, application techniques, and quality assessment within a manufacturing or custom-build setting. Direct the daily activities of the finishing department, ensuring all coating and painting tasks are sequenced for maximum productivity. Maintain and enforce strict Quality Control protocols to ensure every finished piece aligns with the intended design and fabrication excellence. Convert complex finishing requirements into actionable schedules and production plans that align with broader project timelines. Assign tasks to the team, manage labor resources, and identify opportunities to improve shop efficiency and prep-to-finish operations. Oversee inventory levels for all paints and finishing materials, coordinating with the purchasing team to ensure zero downtime due to stock shortages. Lead by example by assisting with sophisticated prep work and final finish applications. Provide leadership with daily updates regarding project status, potential bottlenecks, and resource requirements.
