Position Responsibilities:

The Bindery Operator is responsible for completing the finishing stages of printed materials while maintaining quality, accuracy, and production deadlines. Operating and setting up bindery and print-finishing equipment, including: Guillotine/paper cutters Scoring and creasing machines Laminators Die-cutting equipment Gluing/folding-gluing equipment Folding and other finishing machinery Cutting printed materials accurately to specified dimensions Reading job tickets, measurements, specifications, and production instructions before beginning each job Setting up and adjusting machinery for different paper stocks, sizes, quantities, and finishing requirements Performing quality-control checks throughout production to identify incorrect cuts, registration issues, finishing defects, or other errors Maintaining an efficient workflow in a fast-paced, same-day printing environment Performing basic machine troubleshooting, adjustments, cleaning, and routine maintenance as appropriate Communicating clearly with other production employees and management regarding job status, problems, materials, and deadlines Preferred qualifications include: Ability to accurately read measurements and job specifications Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new equipment quickly Strong time-management and organizational skills Willingness to ask questions when unsure rather than risk damaging materials, equipment, or customer jobs Ability to work both independently and as part of a production team Please review these requirements carefully before applying. The position requires:

Standing and walking for extended periods throughout the shift Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, and repetitive movement Handling stacks of paper, printed materials, boxes, and finished products Maintaining focus and accuracy while working in a busy, deadline-driven environment Ability to safely lift and move materials commonly handled in a commercial print shop, with assistance or equipment when appropriate This position is best suited for someone who: Enjoys hands-on, active work Is comfortable operating machinery Works well in a fast-paced environment Can stay productive without constant supervision Pays close attention to measurements, instructions, and finished quality Is dependable and takes ownership of their work Is willing and able to learn multiple pieces of bindery equipment
