Summary
The Digital Press Operator I is responsible for basic operation of web presses and associated finishing equipment. Supports production objectives by following established roll building rules, preventative maintenance tasks, and quality assurance protocols.
Compensation and Schedule $19 Hourly
Candidates must have availability to work every Saturday, Sunday, Monday; 10 AM to 10:30 PM, no exceptions. Holidays worked will be paid at time and a half. Duties and Responsibilities Operate web press and attached finishing units in accordance with roll build rules.
Load and unload rolls; rethread press after paper jams.
Replace ink barrels, wipe cassettes, and clean/change printheads.
Perform basic troubleshooting, place service calls, and track supply usage.
Execute scheduled PM tasks and uphold digital department housekeeping standards.
Operate perforation units, slitter, and Videk scanner as required.
Visually detect and report defects or questionable material conditions.
Adhere to FIFO supply system and ensure job ticket compliance. Qualifications & Requirements
Preferred Education, Experience, Certification/Licensure High School diploma or GED preferred.
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds using team lift or equipment
Basic mechanical aptitude and visual quality inspection skills
Forklift/rider certification
Prior experience with digital press operations
Understanding of press and finisher operations
Knowledge of roll building, supply management (FIFO), and job ticketing systems
Basic troubleshooting and maintenance capabilities
