Printer Operator Functional Area:
Production Reports to: Production Supervisor Position Description The Printer Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining printing equipment to produce high-quality printed products that meet customer specifications. This position ensures efficient production, maintains quality standards, and follows all company safety procedures. Printer Operator Responsibilities Essential Job Functions Set up and operate digital and/or large-format printing equipment. Review work orders and verify print specifications before production. Monitor print quality and make machine adjustments as needed. Load paper, vinyl, and other printing materials into equipment. Inspect finished products for color accuracy, alignment, and overall quality. Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance on printing equipment. Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report major repairs to maintenance. Maintain inventory of inks, paper, and printing supplies. Complete production records and accurately track job status. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures. Key Competencies Knowledge of printing equipment and production processes. Strong attention to detail and quality control. Ability to read and interpret work orders and production specifications. Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Effective communication and teamwork. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. One or more years of experience operating commercial printing equipment. Experience with digital, wide-format, or offset printing preferred. Basic computer skills and familiarity with print management software. Preferred Requirements Ability to consistently meet production deadlines while maintaining quality. Excellent attendance and dependability. Willingness to work overtime or flexible schedules when needed. Commitment to continuous improvement, workplace safety, and customer satisfaction.
