Job Description

Job Summary:
The Press Room Operator is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of printing presses to produce high-quality print publications. This role involves ensuring that all printing processes run smoothly, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Press Operation:
o Set up and operate printing presses for daily production. o Monitor print quality throughout the production process and make necessary adjustments. o Ensure proper ink and paper supplies are available and loaded correctly. 2.
Maintenance:
o Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on printing equipment. o Report any mechanical issues to the supervisor and assist in repairs as needed. 3.
Quality Control:
o Conduct quality checks to ensure print standards are met. o Collaborate with the editorial and production teams to address any quality concerns. 4.
Safety Compliance:
o Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. o Participate in safety training and adhere to OSHA regulations. 5.
Team Collaboration:
o Work closely with other press room staff to coordinate production schedules. o Assist in training new operators and team members. 6.
Documentation:
o Maintain accurate records of production runs, including quantities and any issues encountered. o Report daily production statistics to management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in printing preferred. Previous experience as a press operator or in a related field is highly desirable. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work on a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as required. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for long periods. Capability to perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment.
