Job Description
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT
Responsible for the safe operation of a web offset press in printing high quality security documents that meet or exceed customer requirements.RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS OF THE POSITION
Run printing jobs in accordance with "job jacket" and all safety, quality and production requirements. Troubleshoot printing problems, contacting maintenance, prepress, ink dept., and/or management as needed. Direct work of 2nd press operator and press helper including loading paper, getting chemicals, washing press, etc. Check register and make adjustments as required Maintains operating and malfunction/downtime log and required production documentation ("Seradex" ERP system) Follows quality standards, maintains close tolerances, performs quality checks and enters Quality non-conformances (QNCR's) into Intelex system. Review images on an ongoing basis for color, quality and other compliance issues. Advise management on performance issues involving other employees assigned to the press Focus on the training a development of the press operators within BCA Performs other duties as assignedMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum five (5) years printing experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Familiar with post-press operations (bindery/finishing) Some night and weekend assignment may be required for training of operators Occasionally maybe requested, and given proper notice, expected to be able to fill in for absences. Knowledge of basic math including weights, measures, fractions, and decimals Mechanical aptitude Ability to walk, stand or bend for up to 12 hours. Excellent color vision Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to work on any shift. to include 12 hour shifts Must be able to adhere to stringent security and safety rules.Job Type:
