Job Description
About the Role As a Printing Press Assistant, you will play a vital role in our production department by ensuring the seamless operation of high-speed printing machinery. By managing paper stock and supporting press setup, you will directly contribute to the efficiency and quality of our final packaging products. Responsibilities Coordinate with the production schedule to stage and load necessary paper stock for upcoming print runs. Optimize feeder performance by precisely adjusting double sheet detectors and pressure settings to maintain consistent output. Monitor the continuous flow of materials to ensure high-quality printing standards are met throughout the run. Collaborate with lead press operators to facilitate efficient machine operation and material handling. Maintain optimal ink and water levels to ensure color accuracy and print consistency. Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on press components, including blankets and rollers, to minimize downtime. Manage the lifecycle of printing plates by retrieving, labeling, and storing them securely after each job. Uphold a high standard of workplace safety and organization to foster a productive manufacturing environment. Required Skills Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot production equipment. Proficiency in basic mathematics, specifically regarding fractions and precise measurements. Strong attention to detail with the ability to monitor equipment performance in real-time. Physical capability to stand, walk, and lift materials throughout the duration of the shift. Ability to interpret and execute both written and verbal technical instructions. Preferred Skills 1-3 years of hands-on experience within a professional printing or manufacturing facility. Prior experience with paper handling and press support functions. Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team setting.
