Responsibilities Operate and oversee large-format sheetfed presses, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to production schedules Manage color consistency through precise color management techniques, calibration, and quality control measures Interpret complex production documents, layout designs, and prepress files to execute accurate printing runs Adjust mechanical components of presses and industrial equipment to achieve desired print quality and registration Collaborate with graphic design teams using Adobe Creative Suite and other graphic design software to prepare files for printing Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and machining of press equipment to minimize downtime Monitor print quality throughout the run, performing inspections for color accuracy, registration, and overall finish Implement finishing processes such as cutting, paper binding, and screen printing as required for project completion Ensure safety protocols are followed during machine operation and equipment adjustments Maintain detailed records of production runs, quality checks, and machine maintenance activities Requirements 5+ years experience operating large-format sheetfed presses in a high-volume manufacturing or print environment Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to adjust industrial equipment and troubleshoot technical issues efficiently Expertise in color management techniques and print quality control standards Proficiency with prepress software including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other graphic design tools Familiarity with digital printing, flexo press operations, screen printing, and finishing processes such as cutting and binding Ability to interpret complex production documents accurately and follow detailed instructions Knowledge of typography, layout design principles, and print advertising standards Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to machine maintenance and process improvement Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members across departments Join us as a Union Sheetfed Head Press Operator if you're passionate about delivering exceptional print quality through technical expertise and innovative practices.
