Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled, reliable, and energetic Flexographic Printing Press Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with flexographic printing presses, ensuring high-quality production of printed materials. As a Flexo Printer, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining flexographic printing equipment while adhering to safety standards and ensuring the best printing outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and adjust flexographic printing presses according to customer job specifications. Load and align printing plates, ink, and substrates onto the press. Monitor the printing process to ensure proper color matching, registration, and quality of prints. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of the printing press to ensure smooth operation. Make adjustments to printing machines during operation to meet print quality standards. Conduct regular inspections of printed materials to ensure consistency and quality. Verify job orders, ensuring all required materials and instructions are in place. Follow all safety procedures while working with printing presses and related equipment. Ensure that production deadlines are met while maintaining high-quality standards. Clean and maintain the presses, including changing ink and performing minor repairs. Work closely with the production team, supervisors, and quality control staff to ensure jobs are completed on time and to specification. Document any issues or maintenance needs during production. Ensure proper handling of ink, chemicals, and other materials to comply with safety and environmental standards.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent 3+ years of experience operating flexographic printing presses (e.g., Mark Andy, Nilpeter) or similar equipment. Commercial print experience operating (e.g., Heidelberg, Mitsubishi, or Man Roland) is acceptable. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to troubleshoot and make adjustments to printing equipment. Knowledge of color theory, registration, and ink handling. Familiarity with safety protocols and guidelines in a printing environment. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment. Basic math and measurement skills. Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of computer software related to printing operations (e.g., color management software). Certification in printing technology or related fields.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods. Must be able to lift heavy materials (up to 40 pounds) as needed. Ability to perform manual tasks, including setting up and cleaning equipment.
