Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Lead Flexo Press Operator for our second shift at our Pasadena, Texas, facility. This position is responsible for operating flexo printing presses, supporting pressroom operations, assisting team members, and serving as the designated shift lead, securing the facility at the end of the shift. Key Responsibilities Set up, operate, and maintain flexographic printing presses according to job specifications Review job tickets and verify stock, inks, plates, anilox rolls, and dies match job requirements Monitor print quality, color consistency, and registration to meet company and customer standards Perform press adjustments and troubleshooting to maintain efficiency and minimize waste Clean and perform routine maintenance on press equipment Assist and support press operators, rewind operators, and press support personnel as needed Serve as the shift lead and technical resource for press-related troubleshooting and support Help coordinate workflow to meet production schedules and deadlines Complete required production documentation accurately Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards Serve as key holder for the shift, including ensuring presses and equipment are properly shut down, securing the building, locking exterior doors, and setting the facility alarm at the end of the shift Qualifications Minimum 5 years of flexo press operating experience required Experience operating Mark Andy or Nilpeter flexo presses preferred Lead, senior operator, or key holder experience preferred Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication skills High school diploma or equivalent required Shift Schedule and Compensation This position is for our 2nd Shift, which runs Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to midnight. Employees assigned to the second shift are eligible for a shift differential, which provides additional compensation above the base hourly rate. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8-10 hours per shift. The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally without assistance, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 75 pounds occasionally with team assistance or mechanical lifting equipment. The role also requires pushing and pulling carts, roll stock, and press components weighing up to 500 pounds using appropriate equipment. The employee must be able to use hands and fingers to grip, handle, and manipulate press components, plates, dies, and tools, as well as reach above shoulder level and below the waist to load materials and perform press setup. Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and twisting are required during press operation, setup, and maintenance. The employee must have the visual ability to inspect printed materials for quality, color accuracy, and defects, including close and distance vision, and be able to distinguish color variations and maintain proper print registration. The position also requires the ability to hear and respond to machine sounds, alarms, and verbal instructions in a manufacturing environment; work in moderate to loud noise conditions; wear required personal protective equipment, including safety shoes; maintain regular attendance; and work overtime as needed.
