Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Quality Inspector to join our growing aviation maintenance team in Birmingham, AL. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting aircraft, components, and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with FAA regulations, customer requirements, and company quality standards. This position supports scheduled and unscheduled maintenance operations, including hangar maintenance, line maintenance, and Aircraft on Ground (AOG) support. Key Responsibilities Perform detailed inspections of aircraft structures, systems, components, and maintenance work. Review maintenance records, repair documentation, and logbooks to verify accuracy and regulatory compliance. Identify discrepancies, defects, or non-conforming conditions and recommend corrective actions. Utilize inspection and measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, borescopes, and other precision instruments. Ensure all work complies with FAA regulations and applicable quality standards. Work closely with technicians, mechanics, and engineering teams to resolve quality concerns. Document inspection findings and maintain accurate records for audits, certifications, and regulatory requirements. Verify adherence to maintenance procedures, technical manuals, and manufacturer specifications. Required Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of aircraft maintenance and/or quality inspection experience. Previous aircraft quality inspection experience required. Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and aircraft maintenance practices. Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical manuals, drawings, and maintenance documentation. Experience using inspection tools and diagnostic equipment. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced maintenance environment. Must possess personal aircraft maintenance tools. Preferred Qualifications FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License. Commercial aircraft maintenance experience. Experience supporting line maintenance operations and AOG events. Experience in hangar, MRO, heavy maintenance, or C&D check environments. Work Schedule Must be open to both of the following schedules: Option 1 Sunday through Wednesday 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM Four 10-hour shifts Option 2 Thursday through Saturday 7:00 AM - 8:30 PM Three 13-hour shifts Schedules are subject to change based on operational needs. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
