Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a background in machining and be proficient in operating various manual machining equipment. This role is crucial for producing high-quality parts and components that meet precise specifications. The Manual Machinist will work closely with engineers and production teams to ensure that all machining tasks are completed efficiently and accurately. The job will also require custom machines, tools and fixtures mechanical assembly work. This job will start as contract and will lead to direct hire with full benefits including health care, PTO, paid holidays and retirement funding. Duties Operate manual lathes, mills, and other machining equipment to fabricate parts according to specifications. Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements. Utilize hand tools, micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments to ensure precision in part dimensions. Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity and reduce waste in the machining process. Conduct routine maintenance on machines and tools to ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and improve manufacturing processes. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Qualifications Ability in blueprint reading for accurate interpretation of technical drawings. Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards. Basic math skills for calculations related to machining tasks. Knowledge of programming for CNC machines is an advantage but not required. Ability to work effectively in a team environment while also being self-motivated. Previous experience in a manufacturing or machining environment is preferred.
