Job Title:
Assembler Job Description This role involves assembling mirrors for the bus and trucking industries by following blueprints, using hand and power tools, accurately reading a tape measure, and performing visual inspections on finished pieces. The assembler also occasionally performs basic light wire assembly while maintaining consistent quality and safety throughout the shift. Responsibilities Assemble mirrors for the bus and trucking industries by following detailed blueprints and work instructions. Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete assembly tasks. Measure components accurately using a tape measure to ensure proper fit and alignment. Perform thorough visual inspections on finished pieces to verify quality and identify defects. Conduct basic light wire assembly as needed to support production requirements. Lift and move materials and components weighing 20-30 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift. Stand for the duration of the shift while maintaining a steady work pace and attention to detail. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area. Collaborate with team members and communicate any issues or defects to ensure smooth production flow. Adapt to occasional schedule needs, including working Fridays when required to meet production demands. Essential Skills At least 1 year of demonstrated tenure or longevity with past employers, showing reliability and commitment. Ability to stand for the entire duration of the shift. Ability to repeatedly lift 20-30 pounds throughout the shift. Comfort using hand and power tools in a manufacturing or assembly environment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and follow written instructions. Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure. Capacity to work in a facility that is not climate controlled. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience with hand and power tools. Prior experience reading and interpreting blueprints. Previous assembly experience in a manufacturing or production setting. Strong attention to detail for visual inspection of finished products. Work Environment This position operates on a first shift schedule, Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with occasional Fridays as needed. The facility runs as a single-shift operation, creating a consistent daytime work routine. The work takes place in a manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled, so temperatures may vary with the seasons. Team members use hand and power tools, tape measures, and other basic assembly equipment throughout the day. The role requires standing for long periods and repeatedly lifting 20-30 pounds while working at production stations in a shop-style setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elkhart, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
