Job Title:
Assembler I Job Description The Assembler I supports multiple work cells within the Interior Glass department and receives cross-training in Fabrication, Crating and Packing, Door Hardware, and small parts orders. This role works on a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and plays a key part in ensuring that products are accurately assembled, packaged, and prepared for shipment in a clean, high-tech production environment. Responsibilities Provide backup support to the Production Team Lead by coordinating orders for the entire department and ensuring all orders are complete and accurate before releasing them to the shipping department. Support production cells, including header, rail, and MUTO operations, by operating drill presses, saws, small presses, hand tools, and packaging equipment as needed. Perform machining, assembly, and packing operations according to production requirements and quality standards. Maintain small parts inventory by fulfilling small parts orders, monitoring stock levels, notifying the Production Supervisor when parts are low, and ensuring all parts are properly labeled and stocked at all times. Use a PC and thermo printer to complete relevant tasks, including logging daily reports and documenting production activities. Follow shop drawings, written instructions, standard operating procedures, and quality control guidelines to ensure products meet all quality requirements. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by consistently complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Use company-provided personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools according to training and safety guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor and/or Production Manager to support overall department goals. Essential Skills High school diploma or GED required. Prior experience in shipping and assembly. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand tools and production equipment. Ability to operate drill presses, saws, small presses, and packaging equipment. Experience with packing, shipping, processing, assembly, quality control, and measuring. Ability to read and follow shop drawings, written instructions, and standard operating procedures. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Dependable work habits, including reliable attendance and punctuality. Ability to work effectively in a higher-pressure production environment. Basic computer skills, including using a PC and thermo printer to complete production-related tasks and log daily reports. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a clean, high-tech manufacturing or production environment. Familiarity with maintaining small parts inventory, including labeling, stocking, and order fulfillment. Comfort using personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety protocols. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and support various production cells. Ability to collaborate with production leads, supervisors, and team members to meet department goals. Work Environment This role is based in a clean, high-tech manufacturing environment within the Interior Glass department. The standard schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. You will work around production equipment such as drill presses, saws, small presses, hand tools, and packaging machinery, as well as computers and thermo printers for reporting and labeling tasks. The environment is detail-oriented and fast-paced, with higher-pressure situations at times to meet production and shipping deadlines. Personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools are provided, and you are expected to use them as trained while following all safety and housekeeping procedures to maintain a safe and orderly workspace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reamstown, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
