Job Title:
Assembler II Job Description The Assembler II performs complex mechanical assembly work using hand and power tools, following blueprints and work instructions to build high-quality units. This role involves assembling mechanical components and wire harnesses, handling moderately heavy parts, and contributing to the safe and efficient operation of the production line. 1st shift - 6am to 2:30pm $24/hr Responsibilities Assemble mechanical components and subassemblies according to blueprints, diagrams, and work instructions. Use hand tools and power tools to perform precise assembly tasks, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and secure fastening of parts. Build and route wire harnesses as required, ensuring correct connections and neat, organized layouts. Inspect parts and assemblies for quality, accuracy, and completeness, and identify any defects or inconsistencies. Handle and move units weighing approximately 50-60 lbs, including units as large as a small refrigerator, using safe lifting techniques. Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and resolve assembly issues. Document work performed as required and communicate any issues or improvements related to the assembly process. Essential Skills Minimum 3 years of assembly experience in a mechanical or manufacturing environment. Proficiency in using hand tools for mechanical assembly tasks. Proficiency in using power tools safely and effectively in an assembly setting. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and assembly drawings. Experience with wire harnessing and basic electrical connections. Ability to lift and handle units weighing 50-60 lbs safely and repeatedly. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to standard operating procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with soldering as a plus for certain assembly tasks. Ability to troubleshoot minor assembly issues and suggest improvements. Work hours typically follow a structured shift schedule aligned with production needs, and you can expect to be on your feet for much of the day, working at benches or assembly stations in a team-oriented environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Costa Mesa, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
