Assembler ($17.50 - $18.75) Job Description This role focuses on assembling and packaging a variety of durable cases and mid-size flashlights that protect valuable equipment such as cameras and lighting accessories. You will follow technical drawings and work instructions, use hand and power tools, and ensure products are accurately built, packaged, and prepared for shipment. The position involves light industrial production work in a clean, organized environment and offers the opportunity to grow from a temporary assignment into a permanent role. Responsibilities Assemble various sizes of heavy-duty cases designed to store cameras, lighting accessories, and other sensitive equipment, following technical drawings and work instructions. Add and fit foam inserts into each case to ensure proper protection and organization of stored equipment. Work on the flashlight assembly line to build mid-size flashlights according to established assembly procedures. Use hand tools and small power tools, including drills, hammers, and rivet machines, to perform mechanical assembly and packaging tasks. Package finished products by taping boxes, labeling, and preparing items for shipment in accordance with work orders. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to ensure accurate assembly and packaging. Count and verify inventory to support production needs and maintain accurate stock levels. Lift and move materials and products weighing between approximately 7 and 35 pounds safely throughout the workday. Operate or learn to operate equipment such as pallet jacks and automated shrink-wrap machines as needed for production and packaging. Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety guidelines, including proper use of tools and personal protective equipment. Essential Skills Experience with assembly work in a production, manufacturing, or distribution environment. Ability to perform mechanical assembly using hand tools and power tools such as drills, hammers, and rivet machines. Comfort with light industrial and general labor tasks, including lifting up to approximately 35-40 pounds. Ability to read and follow technical drawings, blueprints, work orders, and written work instructions accurately. Attention to detail when packaging products, taping boxes, and counting inventory. Ability to work assigned shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) and follow production schedules. Commitment to following safety procedures and using provided protective equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Preferred experience in manufacturing and/or distribution environments. Comfort working with production and light industrial processes. Ability to learn operation of pallet jacks and automated shrink-wrap machines. Mechanical aptitude and interest in working with tools and equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Torrance, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $18.75/hr.
