Contract-to-Hire We are currently seeking an experienced Assembly Technician to join a growing manufacturing team in Hayward, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for an Assembly Technician looking to advance their career in a clean, professional manufacturing environment. This contract-to-hire position offers the opportunity to be brought on permanently at a higher pay rate with a comprehensive benefits package. Position Summary The Assembly Technician II is responsible for producing components by assembling parts and subassemblies while following assembly instructions, blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications. The Assembly Technician will work with mechanical assemblies, perform testing and inspections, utilize hand and power tools, and ensure quality standards are met throughout the manufacturing process. Responsibilities Perform basic mechanical assemblies and subassemblies. Complete assembly work according to blueprints, specifications, and work instructions. Conduct helium leak testing and standard product testing when required. Operate hand tools, portable power tools, and bench tools safely and effectively. Gather parts, materials, tools, and subassemblies needed for production. Read and interpret assembly instructions, engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints. Perform minor troubleshooting during assembly and testing processes. Ensure all products meet quality and production standards. Communicate effectively with management and team members regarding production activities. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all safety procedures and cleanroom protocols. Perform inspections and document production activities as needed. Support other production tasks and duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or cleanroom environment. Experience as an Assembly Technician , Manufacturing Technician, Production Assembler, or similar role preferred. Basic mechanical aptitude and experience performing repetitive assembly operations. Ability to read and follow written instructions and procedures. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Basic computer skills and experience using software applications and computer terminals. Effective communication and teamwork skills. High School Diploma or GED required. Technical coursework, AA Technical Degree, or related experience preferred. Preferred Qualifications Cable and harness assembly experience. Experience with helium leak testing. Module and subassembly testing and inspection experience. Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics. Cleanroom manufacturing experience. Physical Requirements Ability to stand or sit for extended periods. Frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, and grasp. Lift up to 25 pounds independently. Lift more than 25 pounds with assistance. Use hands, arms, and fingers for detailed assembly work. Visual acuity to inspect components and completed assemblies. Work Environment Manufacturing and cleanroom environment. Exposure to moderate noise levels. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, chemicals, and production materials. Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE). May work around vibration-producing equipment and manufacturing machinery.
