A Production Fabricator or Assembler constructs and assembles a wide range of products, such as engines, computers, aircraft, ships, boats, toys, electronic devices, and control panels, as well as the individual parts that make up these products.
San Diego - East County / South Bay We are looking for a hands-on HDPE / plastic fabricator with PVC and CPVC piping experience to help build complete systems.
Pay:
$25.00-$60.00 per hour , depending on experience and capabilities. The ideal candidate can take a drawing or layout and help build a system, from start to finish, including the HDPE structure (hot air welding), piping, component installation, and basic pressure/leak testing.
Responsibilities include:
HDPE sheet fabrication Hot-air and/or extrusion welding of HDPE Cutting, routing, drilling, fitting, and assembling HDPE panels Fabricating bases, back panels, supports, brackets, and enclosures Cutting and assembling Schedule 80 PVC and CPVC piping Solvent cementing PVC and CPVC pipe and fittings Installing valves, unions, strainers, calibration columns, gauges, and other piping components Mounting equipment on HDPE systems Reading fabrication drawings, dimensions, and piping layouts Performing basic hydrostatic/pressure and leak testing Producing clean, professional finished system assemblies Experience working on assembly lines in a manufacturing facility with a focus on quality control and process efficiency.
Ideal experience includes:
HDPE / thermoplastic fabrication Plastic tank or secondary-containment fabrication PVC and CPVC industrial piping Schedule 80 piping systems Chemical-feed or water-treatment equipment Pump installation Plastic welding equipment Routers, saws, drills, and general fabrication tools Pressure/leak testing of piping systems Experience building chemical systems, water-treatment systems, pump systems, or industrial process equipment is a major plus. This is initially project-based / part-time work with the potential to become consistent ongoing work as production grows. We are looking for someone who can eventually take ownership of the fabrication side — build, assemble, pipe, and test the systems so they are ready for shipment.
