Fabrication Technician Framing

• Factory-Built Housing Newark, CA 94560 | Full-time | On-site About Neovi Neovi is a modular construction company building the next generation of housing in our Newark, California factory. We manufacture complete building systems — including our proprietary closed wall system — on a mix of manual and automated assembly lines, then deliver and install them on projects across California and Massachusetts. All our panels are produced in a controlled factory environment rather than a traditional job site. If you've worked construction and wished the work were cleaner, safer, more consistent, and out of the weather — or you come from manufacturing and want your work to become someone's home — this is that job. About the Role As a Fabrication Technician, you'll work on our assembly lines producing wall panels, floor systems, and building modules. You'll operate manual and automated equipment, perform hands-on assembly, framing, and finishing work, and help ensure every unit that leaves the factory meets our quality standards. This is not a traditional construction job and it's not a traditional factory job — it's both. The strongest candidates understand how buildings go together and are excited to learn how we've reinvented the process. What You'll Do Operate and monitor fabrication equipment as part of an assembly line team Perform assembly work on wall, floor, and roof systems: framing, sheathing, insulation, and finish components Install and rough-in MEP components (electrical, plumbing, mechanical) within wall and floor assemblies Read and work from shop drawings, cut lists, and production travelers Perform in-line quality checks and flag issues before they move downstream Maintain a clean, organized, safe workstation and follow all safety protocols Cross-train across multiple stations as production needs shift What We're Looking For We hire for trainability and attitude as much as experience. You don't need to have done this exact job before — nobody has, because we're building something new.
You do need to:
Understand the fundamentals of how buildings are constructed — framing, MEP systems, envelope, and finishes Learn fast and take feedback well; we will train you on our systems and equipment Work well in a team-based assembly line environment where your pace and quality affect the people downstream Take pride in craftsmanship — the units we build are homes people will live in Show up reliably and communicate proactively when something isn't right Be legally authorized to work in the United States No specific education level or prior years of experience are required for this role. We hire for trainability and attitude, and we will train you on our systems and equipment. Nice to Have (Not Required) Experience in residential or commercial construction — carpentry, framing, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC Manufacturing, production line, or assembler experience Forklift, telehandler, or other equipment certifications Experience reading construction drawings or shop drawings OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Schedule & Physical Requirements Production teams start at 7:00 AM; shifts are normally 8 hours Overtime and occasional weekend work are available as production demands Standing for the duration of a shift on a factory floor Lifting up to 50 lbs Repetitive motion, bending, kneeling, and overhead work Working with hand and power tools throughout a shift Exposure to production-level noise What We Offer Consistent full-time hours in a climate-controlled factory — no rain-outs, no chasing job sites Paid training and cross-training across stations and skills Clear growth path as we scale production for major projects already in our pipeline Medical, dental, and vision insurance for regular full-time employees — Neovi pays 50% of the premium 401(k) retirement plan (no employer match) 11 paid holidays per year 40 hours of paid sick time per calendar year, available after 30 days of employment 40 hours of accrued paid time off per year, which carries over year to year Bi-weekly pay How to Apply Apply through Indeed with your resume. A cover letter is not required. Equal Opportunity Neovi Holdings, LLC is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, national origin, ancestry, age (40 and over), marital status, physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, military or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.
