At Kindred Motorworks, we restore iconic classic cars and convert many to electric. Same look. Same soul. Modern performance. This is not dealership flat-rate service work. This is not repetitive dealership oil changes. This is hands-on assembly inside a fast-moving production team building high-end classic vehicles. You'll execute standardized automotive assembly processes safely, efficiently, and to spec, while helping improve how we build every car. What you'll actually be doing: You'll be responsible for executing standardized automotive assembly work while maintaining required quality levels and production pace. Perform automotive maintenance and assembly tasks on both ICE and Electric Vehicles (EVs) Operate and maintain shop tools, power tools, and automotive electrical test equipment Install parts by strictly following standardized work instructions Prevent non-conformances (defects) through disciplined process execution Assist cross-functional teams with troubleshooting and diagnosing issues Provide real-time upstream feedback on parts, processes, and workflows Support process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives Participate in shop safety and 5S programs Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area This role requires consistency, discipline, and attention to detail — quality and process adherence matter. What we're looking for: 2+ years of experience in automotive diagnosis, servicing, repairs, and/or manufacturing Ability to work in a team-based production environment Flexibility and willingness to work in a fast-paced startup manufacturing setting Strong written and verbal communication skills Desire and ability to work with various technology platforms Valid driver's license Preferred (not required): Knowledge of automotive systems and subsystems (Engine/Transmission, Brakes, Cooling, Electrical, HVAC, Steering, Suspension, etc.) Familiarity with EV systems Understanding of standard practices, tools, and materials used in motor vehicle assembly and maintenance Knowledge of body and frame construction Skill in using hand tools, welding equipment, mechanized tools, jacks, and hoists Experience with automotive diagnostic testing and tuning equipment Ability to diagnose mechanical and automotive malfunctions Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and service manuals Experience disassembling, repairing, and assembling engines and components Technician training experience Experience with professional shop safety and 5S / Lean Six Sigma programs Skill, process discipline, and teamwork are more important than titles. Physical Demands & Work Environment This role requires: Walking, standing, bending, and stooping Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling materials up to 75 pounds Working in a clean, organized, unconditioned shop environment Exposure to noise, fumes, and heat Occasional use of ear plugs, eye protection, and/or respirator Required use of PPE at all times in accordance with safety regulations Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
