Window Treatment Fabricator We are seeking an experienced Seamstress / Custom Window Treatment Fabricator to join our custom drapery workroom. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience producing high-quality custom window treatments, especially Roman shades and cornices. We are looking for a skilled craftsperson who understands professional workroom construction methods and takes pride in precision, consistency, and beautiful finished work. Key Responsibilities Fabricate custom window treatments including Roman shades, cornices, draperies, valances, and other soft furnishings Construct Roman shades from start to finish according to specifications and measurements Fabricate and finish custom cornices, including fabric application, padding, pattern placement/matching, trims, and detailed finishing Accurately read and follow work orders, measurements, fabrication specifications, and design details Cut fabrics, linings, interlinings, trims, and other materials accurately Sew hems, seams, pleats, and custom finishes using industrial/commercial sewing equipment Required Experience & Skills Professional experience fabricating Roman shades is required Professional experience fabricating custom cornices is required Minimum 2+ years of professional sewing, drapery, custom window treatment, upholstery, or soft-furnishings fabrication experience Strong knowledge of custom workroom fabrication techniques Proficiency with industrial or commercial sewing machines and related equipment Ability to accurately read measurements, fractions, work orders, and fabrication specifications Experience cutting and working with decorative fabrics, linings, trims, and pattern repeats Strong measurement accuracy and attention to detail Ability to produce clean, precise work that meets high-end quality standards Ability to work independently while following production priorities and specifications Dependable attendance, punctuality, and ability to meet production deadlines Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a custom drapery or luxury window-treatment workroom Experience fabricating a variety of Roman shade styles and custom cornice designs Experience with draperies, valances, upholstered treatments, and other custom soft furnishings Experience with pattern matching and placement on high-end fabrics Familiarity with motorized window-treatment components Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is more than just a general sewing machine operator. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience in custom window-treatment fabrication and understand the level of craftsmanship required for luxury residential projects. You should be comfortable taking a work order and measurements and producing a finished treatment that is accurate, professionally constructed, and ready for installation. Candidates with demonstrated experience in Roman shade and cornice fabrication are strongly encouraged to apply.
