Position SummaryThe Liquid Spring Installer is responsible for installing, setting up, and verifying Liquid Spring smart suspension systems on ambulance chassis in accordance with manufacturer specifications, engineering drawings, and quality standards. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and ride-quality performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesInstall Liquid Spring suspension components including struts, accumulators, pumps, reservoirs, wiring harnesses, and control modulesRemove and replace OEM suspension components as requiredRoute and secure hydraulic lines and electrical connections per specificationsPerform system setup, calibration, and basic diagnosticsVerify proper installation, torque values, clearances, and system operationRead and interpret work instructions, schematics, and chassis upfit requirementsIdentify and report installation issues, part discrepancies, or quality concernsFollow all safety procedures, torque standards, and PPE requirementsMaintain clean and organized work areasSupport rework, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement effortsRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required2+ years of experience in automotive, heavy-duty vehicle, or chassis upfitting preferredStrong mechanical and troubleshooting skillsAbility to use hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, and lifting equipmentAbility to read basic schematics and follow technical instructionsAbility to lift up to 75 lbs and work under vehiclesDependable attendance and strong attention to detailPreferred ExperienceExperience installing Liquid Spring, air ride, or hydraulic suspension systemsBackground in ambulance, fire apparatus, truck, RV, or fleet vehicle upfittingBasic electrical knowledge and diagnostic experienceFamiliarity with OEM chassis (Ford, Chevy, RAM, Freightliner)Understanding of ride-height, alignment, and suspension geometryPhysical Requirements and Work EnvironmentManufacturing and vehicle upfitting shop environmentExposure to noise, fluids, heavy components, and moving vehiclesPPE requiredContingencies of EmploymentSuccessful completion of a background check, pre-employment drug screen and physical examination Successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, if applicable to the positionEqual Opportunity EmployerLife Line is an equal opportunity employer.
