Job Description
Blac-Rac, a Gamber-Johnson Company, is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing team. This is a temporary position with the potential to become a direct-hire role. For more information on Blac-Rac visit: https://www.blacrac.com/ In this hands-on position, you will perform a variety of assembly and production activities while working as part of a team to build quality products efficiently and safely. You will work from samples, drawings, schedules, and written or verbal instructions and will have opportunities to contribute ideas that improve our products and manufacturing processes. If you enjoy working with your hands, learning new skills, solving problems, and being part of a team, we want to hear from you! What You'll Do Assemble mechanical and electrical products and components. Perform a variety of production tasks, including assembly, drilling, packaging, and basic maintenance. Use light hand and power tools safely and effectively. Follow drawings, samples, work instructions, and production schedules. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area using 5S principles. Complete production transactions and records, including labor reporting, stock picking, and inventory information. Perform accurate cycle counts. Identify and help troubleshoot nonconforming products. Follow applicable work instructions, quality standards, and ISO documentation. Help identify opportunities to improve materials, processes, product quality, and efficiency. Work collaboratively with team members, leads, and supervisors. Assist with other production assignments as needed. What We're Looking For High school diploma/GED or willingness to pursue a GED. Previous assembly or manufacturing experience is preferred, but not required. Ability to safely lift and handle approximately 35-50 pounds. Basic computer skills. Good verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet production deadlines. A strong commitment to workplace safety. Willingness to learn and work in both mechanical and electrical assembly areas.
