Job Description

We are working with a client outside of Chicago looking for two Gearbox Technicians/Assembler s to join their team! Ability to assemble, disassemble, troubleshoot and read blueprints is required.

Key.
Responsibilities:
Assembly & Testing:
Build up and test gearboxes and sub-assemblies (clutches, housings) according to blueprints, technical diagrams, and engineering specifications.
Precision Fitting:
Assemble, position, and align component parts such as bearings, shafts, gears, and bushings.
Repair:
Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair as needed.
Tool Operation:
Utilize pneumatic tools, hand tools, torque wrenches, and hydraulic presses to securely fasten components.
Quality Assurance:
Inspect parts for defects, check for oil leaks, and perform measurements using micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
Material Handling:
Operate overhead hoists, cranes, or forklifts to move heavy components.
Documentation:
Maintain production logs and records of assembled units.
Maintenance:
Keep the workstation clean, organized, and adhere to safety protocols.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
Ability to read and interpret blue prints, technical drawings, and bills of materials.
Experience:
3-6 months or more of mechanical assembly experience (typically within a manufacturing setting), diesel mechanic experience, or industrial maintenance experience.
Physical Strength:
Capable of standing for long periods, bending, and lifting heavy parts (up to 50+ lbs).
Troubleshooting:
