The Production Assembler is an advanced-level assembly position responsible for mechanical and electrical assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and completion of high-speed, high-volume food processing equipment. Working from blueprints, schematics, assembly prints, and technical specifications, this role performs complex equipment assembly with a high degree of independence and assumes ownership of equipment quality, functionality, and overall build integrity. What You'll do: Perform advanced mechanical and electrical assembly of machines and peripheral equipment. Perform scratch builds, repair builds, rework, and other advanced assembly functions. Install and troubleshoot guarding, cylinders, motors, pump boxes, paperfeeds, frames, and other machine components. Complete machine wiring and electrical connections; build cables and wire harnesses, with opportunities to support electrical sub-panel construction as needed Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications. Perform precision measurement, alignment, testing, power-up, dry-cycle, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Complete quality inspections, worksheets, checklists, and final testing to ensure equipment meets specifications. Take ownership of assigned equipment from assembly through testing, troubleshooting, and shipping preparation. Support multiple cells and equipment configurations and assist with complex production issues. Provide technical guidance to less experienced assemblers and support Engineering, and Service as needed. Identify and communicate opportunities for improvements in equipment, quality, safety, cost, and efficiency.
