Heavy Equipment Assembler Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Heavy Equipment Assembler to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will assemble heavy machinery and equipment by interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions to ensure components and systems meet strict quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience with large assemblies for heavy equipment. You will collaborate closely with team members and supervisors to achieve production goals while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This position demands precision, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous improvement , as well as the ability to follow instructions carefully and troubleshoot issues effectively.
Role and Responsibilities:
Interpret engineering prints, technical drawings, and schematics to assemble subassemblies and finished machinery components accurately. Assemble mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems according to strict quality and safety specifications. Safely operate overhead hoists, cranes, and lifting equipment to position and move larger assemblies. Perform final quality inspections and performance tests on engines, electronics, and other systems, identifying and troubleshooting problems. Maintain organization of parts, tools, and assemblies to support efficient workflow. Assist with loading and unloading finished products onto flatbed trailers for shipment. Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and suggest innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and quality. Provide support in other areas of the production process as needed to meet deadlines. Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certifications in mechanics, fabrication, or industrial assembly is a plus. Strong mechanical aptitude , with experience in assembling heavy machinery, equipment, or industrial equipment. Proficient in using hand and power tools such as sockets, wrenches, hammers, impacts, and torque wrenches. Ability to work safely on platforms, ladders, and elevated surfaces. Capable of reading and following detailed instructions and technical documentation. Physically able to stand, move, and occasionally climb for extended periods. Able to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability skills .
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
Experience operating overhead hoists, cranes, or other lifting equipment. Previous experience assembling heavy machinery or industrial equipment. Familiarity with quality control processes and final testing procedures for mechanical and electronic systems. Ability to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization.
