Join Our Team We're seeking a skilled and dependable Fabricator in our Roxana, IL location to modify, repair, and customize existing emergency response apparatus and equipment — from structural fabrication and welding to full system installations on pumpers, aerials, tankers, and rescue units. If you're a hands-on fabricator who enjoys welding, mechanical problem-solving, and building solutions that directly support first responders, this is a great opportunity to grow your career in emergency vehicle fabrication. What You'll Do Modify, customize, and retrofit existing emergency response vehicles and equipment Perform structural modifications to truck bodies, compartments, frames, and mounted systems MIG weld (required) and TIG weld (preferred) steel and aluminum components Fabricate and install custom brackets, mounts, and support structures Install firefighting equipment including pumps, tanks, hose reels, and tool storage Install lighting, emergency warning devices, and electrical control systems Diagnose, repair, and restore structural and mechanical issues on existing apparatus Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical drawings Collaborate with Service Managers to determine repair approach and scope Inspect completed work to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with specifications Document repairs, modifications, and completed work accurately What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training in welding or fabrication preferred 1-3 years of fabrication, welding, repair, or vehicle modification experience preferred Strong MIG welding skills required; TIG welding preferred Experience with steel and aluminum fabrication in a service or repair environment preferred Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability and attention to detail Ability to work independently in a non-standard, repair-driven environment Must provide and maintain a basic set of personal hand tools Welding certification and OSHA/general safety training preferred but not required Why You'll Love Working at Banner Fire Equipment Estimated pay: $28.00 - $35.00/ hour (Final offers are based on experience, certifications, and training.)
