Shop Supervisor Build Something That Matters! Are you a skilled Steel Fabricator who takes pride in turning raw steel into quality, finished products? Do you enjoy hands-on work, solving fabrication challenges, and seeing your work come together from blueprint to finished project? We're looking for an experienced Steel Fabricator to join our team in Shelbyville, IL! You'll play an important role in fabricating structural steel components for construction and industrial projects while working alongside a hardworking, team-oriented crew. What You'll Do Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols . Measure, cut, shape, and prepare steel using saws, shears, torches, grinders, and other fabrication equipment. Assemble structural steel components using welding, bolting, and riveting . Perform MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding as required. Operate equipment such as CNC machines, press brakes, and plasma cutters . Check completed work for accuracy, quality, alignment, and proper tolerances. Maintain equipment and keep your work area safe, organized, and productive. Track material usage, complete job documentation, and communicate issues to the Shop Supervisor. Work as part of a team to keep projects moving and meet deadlines. What We're Looking For 2+ years of steel fabrication or related trade experience . Strong skills in welding, cutting, fitting, and steel fabrication. Ability to confidently read and understand blueprints and shop drawings. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to safely lift and handle heavy materials and work on your feet in an industrial environment. A safety-first mindset and commitment to following OSHA and company safety requirements. Even Better If You Have CNC or advanced fabrication experience. Knowledge of AISC and AWS standards . Forklift or overhead crane experience/certification. Welding certifications or trade school training. Experience with custom fabrication or complex structural assemblies.
