Experienced Production TIG Welder Rhodes Race Cars - Merrillville IN Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years TIG welding experience with aluminum & steel. Rhodes Race Cars is a manufacturing company of drag racing suspension systems, chassis components, as well as aluminum fuel cells. We are searching for an Experienced Production TIG Welder. This position is responsible for precision TIG welding of Aluminum and 4130 chromoly components. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Ensure accurate, strong, and efficient TIG welds. Ability to perform many "out-of-position" welds.

Part preparation:

sanding, deburring, grinding. Processing parts for welded assemblies Sawing, tube notching, tube bending Layout and assemble parts in jigs/fixtures. Report part shortages in a timely manner to assist in inventory control. Prep raw parts to be put in inventory (ie: sawing, washing, deburring). Plan work by reviewing work orders and incorporating maximum usage of material with minimum waste. Must be able to respond quickly and smoothly to production and customer needs to produce components in a timely fashion. Perform housekeeping tasks as necessary in work area. Skills/Requirements High school diploma and 2+ years TIG welding experience required. General mechanical knowledge and basic math and measuring skills are a must. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively prioritize work tasks and maintain focus in a fast paced environment. Attention to detail and good organizational skills required. Able to lift a minimum of 60 pounds. Must be able to stand/sit for long periods of time. It would help greatly to have a background in the automotive field but not necessarily needed with the right qualifications. This will be a Monday-Friday, 8 hr/day position. We do offer overtime during peak seasons. Aside from the other duties and abilities that come along with this position, TIG welding is the most important part of this position. Pay is based on initial ability and ability to learn the position. ($25 - $35 Per Hour).
