Carolina Awning designs, manufactures, and installs custom awning and tarp solutions for both Residential and Commercial customers. We have remained in business for over 100 years by focusing on customer service and product quality. We are looking for the right team member in our Sewing Department excited to carry on a tradition of quality craftsmanship.

• Performs various tasks utilizing sewing machines, cutting tools, layout templates (patterns).
• Carry out simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division or be able to perform these with a calculator.
• See and distinguish between fabric patterns and colors.
• Operate safely several machines in the shop, including but not limited to, a straight stitch machine, fabric welder, binding machine, automated fabric cutter
• Frequent (at least 2/3 of the work day) pulling, pushing, grasping, reaching, cutting, and lifting with arms and hands and operating foot pedals.
• Operating an industrial sewing machine with a long arm and a double needle
• Ensuring that the sewing machines and/or other equipment are in good working order
• The ability to perform routine maintenance on the equipment
• Labeling customer's products and recording the alterations required
• Must have the ability to work under time constraints
• Read and interpret work orders and adjust machines and materials to match, including selecting fabric, thread and needles, mounting necessary attachments and double-checking settings before beginning a large run
• Inspect and repair finished products as needed and make machine adjustments to compensate for errors or quality issues
• Troubleshoot basic machinery problems and request service or repairs as needed Required experience:

• Sewing/Manufacturing:

  at least 1 year experience
• The ability to safely use different types of sewing machines
• Good hand-eye coordination
• Detail oriented

Hours of Operation:

M-Thur 7:30am-5pm Friday 8:00a-12:00pm

Pay:
