The Assembler works safely, cost effectively, and operates all tools/equipment of the trade while understanding the integration of various building components. The Assembler works with a crew in taking a project from the arrival of the building components on site through layout, erection sheeting, trimming, and other tasks related to the completion of the project. The Metal Building Assembler must exhibit a productive, organized, quality, conscious work attitude. Assembles prefabricated metal buildings according to drawings and specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and rigging equipment. Ideally Metal Building Assemblers have skills in carpentry, iron work, sheet metal mechanics, and have experience as a rigger, operator, and engineer. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: Organize, handle and assemble steel structural components. Installs insulating materials per drawings and specifications. Installs sheet metal wall and roof panels to framework. Installs building sheet metal trim. Erects and bolts steel frame members together. Erects frame of building, using hoist.

Requirements:

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to get to and from job sites. Available to work overtime, nights and weekends when needed. Must own basic metal building assembly tools. Familiar with basic rigging and metal building assembly/erecting principles and techniques. Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications to determine location and installation requirements of items such as doors, windows, ventilators, and skylights. Acute safety awareness. Agile, physically fit with a strong sense of balance. Ability to perform at elevated work areas in tight quarters or other environments (with appropriate safety gear) Ability to handle and maneuver heavy materials and operate equipment such as aerial lifts, forklifts etc. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to get to and from job sites.
