•Job Description The Assembler Finishing role focuses on assembling large sheet metal enclosures and preparing them for final delivery. You measure and position sheet metal pieces, perform light tack welding, and complete finishing tasks such as fastening components and touching up paint. This position is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, comfortable working with tools, and able to interpret blueprints and shop drawings in a busy manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Measure and position sheet metal pieces, typically 1015 feet in length, accurately into place using a tape measure and other measuring tools. Perform small tack welds to secure sheet metal components until welders complete the full welds on the product. Button, bolt, and glue various parts and hardware to the final enclosure, ensuring secure and precise assembly. Add mechanical and electrical components to metal enclosures according to blueprints and shop drawings. Touch up paint on assembled products to ensure a clean, professional finish. Use hand and power tools safely and effectively for cutting, fastening, and adjusting components. Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings to follow assembly specifications and layout requirements. Inspect assembled products for quality, fit, and finish, and make adjustments as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety procedures and manufacturing guidelines. Collaborate with welders and other team members to ensure products move efficiently through the production process. Essential Skills Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand how components fit and function together. Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure for precise measurements of sheet metal and components. Hands-on experience using a variety of hand and power tools in an assembly, construction, or similar environment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings to complete assembly tasks correctly. Comfort working with large sheet metal pieces and performing physical tasks in a manufacturing setting. Attention to detail to ensure proper fit, secure fastening, and high-quality finishes on assembled products. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous assembly experience is a plus, particularly in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Construction experience, especially framing, is considered an asset. Trade school education or certifications in welding or construction are preferred. Basic welding experience, including tack welding, is beneficial. Ability to learn new fabrication and welding skills over time as responsibilities expand. Why Work Here? Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
