CFM is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Experienced Assembly Technician to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, inspecting, and assembling molds, operating flow coat and spray stations, and ensuring smooth production flow down mold lines. The ideal candidate takes pride in high-quality workmanship, follows strict safety standards, and brings a proactive, problem-solving mindset to the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities Production & Assembly:

Operate flow coat, spray tanks, and core prep/setting stations independently to keep pace with production targets. Read process sheets and look up assembly instructions independently. Operate mold manipulators to close molds properly. Determine appropriate mold lines to route molds efficiently. Monitor line flow, recognize bottlenecks, and step in to help keep production moving.

Quality Control & Precision:

Inspect molds and cores for defects; decide whether to discard or escalate issues to quality/production management. Apply core wash (flow coated or sprayed) consistently and accurately to designated surfaces. Clean molds (blow out sand and loose debris) prior to applying core wash and setting copes. Properly apply glue and align copes with shift pins to prevent iron runouts, casting defects, or sand contamination.

Equipment Maintenance & Housekeeping:

Perform routine end-of-shift cleaning on the flow coat and spray systems. Troubleshoot and make minor repairs or adjustments to flow coat and spray machinery. Maintain a clean, organized, and properly labeled workstation.

Safety & Compliance:

Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including mandatory PPE requirements and safe movement rules (e.g., no stepping over rollers). Keep work area clean and clear of trip hazards. Proactively identify safety hazards and assist in correcting them.

Technical Skills:

Ability to read technical process sheets, perform basic mechanical troubleshooting, and work safely with industrial equipment. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Work Environment & Physical Demands Standing, walking, lifting, and operating heavy machinery/manipulators throughout the shift. Exposure to foundry/manufacturing environments requiring proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all time.
