Job Description

Cornell Pump Company is a prominent leader in the centrifugal pump industry with over 75 years of experience and continuous growth. Our manufacturing facilities located in Clackamas, OR, Vancouver, WA, and Rock Hill, SC allow us to serve diverse markets such as Agriculture, Industrial, Municipal, Rental, and Mining. We are seeking a Pump Assembler where you will play a key role in our production process by building pump component with precision and are. This hands-on position is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy working with tools, following detailed work instructions, and producing high-quality equipment that meets strict performance standards.
Location:
Clackamas, OR Pay:
$24 - $28 per hour (+$1.00 shift differential)
Schedule:
Swing Shift, Monday-Friday, 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM About the position: As a Pump Assembler, you will support production and repair operations by assembling, disassembling, and rebuilding industrial pumps. This hands-on role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to follow work instructions to produce high-quality equipment. You'll work with tools, components, and precision measurements while contributing to a safe, efficient, and team-oriented work environment.
What You'll Do:
Assemble and install pump components following specifications and work instructions Use hand, air, and power tools to secure and fit parts Operate cranes, forklifts, and other lifting equipment safely Install bearings, fit shafts, and align pump and motor assemblies Cut and bend tubing as needed Perform air tests, inspections, and quality checks Use precision measuring tools to ensure proper tolerances Maintain a clean, organized workspace and work effectively as part of a team Education and/or
Experience:
Mechanical aptitude and hands on mechanical experience are required. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications:
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on mechanical experience Experience as an auto mechanic or similar mechanical trade is highly transferable Ability to effectively use hand tools and impact tools Experience using precision measuring devices is a plus Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings preferred Comfortable working with mechanical assemblies and close tolerances Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on mechanical experience Experience as an auto mechanic or similar mechanical trade is highly transferable Ability to effectively use hand tools and impact tools Experience using precision measuring devices is a plus Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings preferred Comfortable working with mechanical assemblies and close tolerances Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
