Fabrication Technician responsible for heavy-duty vehicle fabrication, welding, mechanical repairs, basic electrical and plumbing work, and custom component installation. Job Requirements Experience working on automotive or heavy-duty trucks Basic welding and fabrication experience Basic 12V and 120V electrical troubleshooting and repair experience Basic plumbing and mechanical troubleshooting experience Experience using hand tools, power tools, air tools, jacks, diagnostic equipment, and shop machinery Ability to measure, cut, fit, and install fabricated components to specifications Experience disassembling and reassembling vehicle components Basic computer skills Ability to lift up to 100 pounds Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to bend, stoop, squat, push, pull, and reach Ability to climb ladders 10 feet or higher Ability to work around heavy trucks, moving machinery, mechanical components, and shop equipment Ability to work indoors and outdoors as required Ability to work in environments with noise, dust, exhaust, chemicals, oil, grease, vibration, and weather exposure Preferred Skills Heavy-duty truck repair experience Fire apparatus or emergency vehicle experience Truck body repair experience Vehicle upfitting experience Diesel or fleet maintenance experience Experience fabricating custom brackets, mounts, shelving, and truck components Experience with vehicle electrical component installation Experience maintaining fabrication equipment Job Responsibilities Inspect heavy-duty trucks and specialized vehicles for structural damage Remove and reinstall vehicle components and equipment Perform minor 12V and 120V electrical repairs Perform minor plumbing and mechanical repairs Disassemble and reassemble components for body work, painting, repair, and fabrication Measure, cut, fit, and install components according to specifications Fabricate custom brackets, mounts, shelving, and other vehicle components Perform welding and mechanical repair work Troubleshoot damaged equipment and determine required repairs or fabricated solutions Operate shop tools, machinery, diagnostic equipment, jacks, and air tools Maintain personal, shop, and specialty tools Assist with maintenance of fabrication equipment Complete work orders and time records Identify equipment and facility repair requirements
