Job Title:
Production Assembler $17-$18 Job Description This contract Production Assembler role runs through approximately December and offers the opportunity to support high-volume battery manufacturing in a large, modern facility. You will work on a 12-hour shift schedule in the 700 Building, performing assembly and production tasks on the battery line, ensuring components are filled correctly, inspected thoroughly, and documented accurately. While this assignment is contract-based, there may be future opportunities for continued work at another site for those interested. Responsibilities Work on the battery production line, ensuring batteries are filled properly with the correct fluids according to established procedures. Load and place parts into machines that process components used in battery production. Remain on your feet for long periods during each shift while performing assembly and production tasks. Visually inspect parts as they move through the machine to identify defects, irregularities, or issues with quality. Operate machine controls, including pushing buttons as needed to move parts through to the next station in the production process. In designated production areas, enter data into a computer system and log information on paper sheets as required. Record production and filling cycle data in the computer once each part completes its approximately one-minute filling cycle. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of production activities, ensuring data integrity and compliance with internal standards. Follow safety procedures and quality guidelines while working with machinery, fluids, and battery components. Participate in cross-training across multiple areas of the plant over time to support flexible staffing and broaden skills. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and maintain a steady workflow. Keep the work area clean and organized, supporting a safe and efficient manufacturing environment. Essential Skills Approximately 1 year of assembly experience is preferred, ideally in a manufacturing or production setting. Approximately 1 year of manufacturing or production experience is preferred. Approximately 1 year of warehouse experience is preferred. Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time during 12-hour shifts. Comfort working on an assembly line and operating basic production machinery. Strong attention to detail for visual inspection of parts and monitoring filling processes. Basic computer skills and willingness to use a computer regularly for data entry and logging. Ability to accurately input and log production data in both computer systems and on paper forms. Reliability in following established procedures and safety guidelines in a manufacturing environment. Capability to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule, including days, nights, and weekends as assigned. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in assembly, production, general labor, or inspection work. Experience as a production worker, machine operator, or warehouse associate. Willingness to be cross-trained in multiple production areas within the plant. Interest in learning forklift operations in the future once eligible and trained. Ability to thrive in a structured, not overly fast-paced environment while maintaining consistent focus. Comfort working with industrial equipment and following standardized work instructions. The environment centers on assembly and production work, with employees standing on their feet for extended periods during 12-hour shifts. Shifts include day and night schedules: Shift A (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday 7:00 AM-7:00 PM; Wednesday 7:00 AM-1:00 PM), Shift B (Wednesday 1:00 PM-7:00 PM; Thursday, Friday, Saturday 7:00 AM-7:00 PM), Shift C (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday 7:00 PM-7:00 AM; Wednesday 7:00 PM-1:00 AM), and Shift D (Wednesday 1:00 AM-7:00 AM; Thursday, Friday, Saturday 7:00 PM-7:00 AM). The facility uses production machinery and computer systems for data entry and tracking. Over time, employees receive cross-training across different areas of the plant, and there is future potential to train on forklift operations once not on contract. The workplace emphasizes cleanliness, safety, and structured processes in a steady-paced production environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Monroeville, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
