Fabrication Technician Position Summary Glick Fire Equipment Company, Inc. is a family-owned-and-operated business that employs more than 100 people throughout Pennsylvania. We offer high quality products and service for Fire & EMS companies. The Fabrication Technician will work Monday - Friday; 7:00am - 3:30pm, alongside other customer service employees to achieve optimum efficiency and excellent customer service, in keeping with the values and vision of Glick Fire Equipment. Fabrication Technician Job Responsibilities Fabricate and install components on fire apparatus, ambulances, and emergency service vehicles Measure, draw and fit equipment to proper and exact specifications Create custom mounts, brackets and shelving for optimal use of compartmentation Execute customer tool mountings, fixed shelves, roll out tool boards, swing out tool boards and roll out-tilt down shelves, custom tray bins, toolboxes, brackets, straps and racks Removal of apparatus parts and equipment, including electrical equipment Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair minor electrical wiring - 12V and 120V Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair minor plumbing & mechanical issues Disassemble damaged and undamaged parts in preparation of paint, body work, or fabrication, and reassemble after work is completed Assist with maintaining fabrication equipment and ensure proper care, storage & inventory of supplies or tools Ability to follow proper safety procedures and wear appropriate safety equipment Ensure customers are greeted promptly and with respect, either in person or on the phone Fabrication Technician Requirements High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. A valid Pennsylvania driver's license is required; a Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's License (PA CDL) with air brake & tanker endorsement is preferred A minimum of 3 - 5 yrs welding exp. strongly preferred Provide basic hand tools Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and bend at the knees Must be a self-starter and have a high level of personal drive for success Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a constantly changing environment Ability to take ownership and responsibility Trustworthy, responsible, organized and detailed Fabrication Technician Benefits Free Medical, Dental & Vision Benefit Plan Options Free Short-Term Disability, Life Insurance, and AD&D Policy 401K retirement with company match.
