Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on Composite Assembly Technician to support manufacturing, assembly, inspection, machining, and testing activities in a technical production environment. This position is responsible for assembling components to specification, performing basic machining and fabrication tasks, inspecting finished products, preparing test articles, supporting testing activities, and maintaining accurate production and inspection documentation. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently with hand tools, power tools, manufacturing equipment, and technical documentation. Key ResponsibilitiesAssembly & Manufacturing Assemble mechanical and composite components according to drawings, specifications, and work instructions. Use hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and other production equipment to complete assembly operations. Perform basic machining, fabrication, and part preparation as required. Fit, align, fasten, and assemble components while maintaining dimensional and functional requirements. Support prototype, low-volume, or specialized manufacturing activities as needed. Maintain consistent workmanship and product quality throughout the assembly process. Machining & Fabrication Support Perform machining or secondary manufacturing operations within the scope of training and experience. Operate applicable shop equipment and tools safely. Prepare parts and components for assembly, inspection, or testing. Verify completed machining or fabrication work against established requirements. Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition. Inspection & Quality Inspect finished components and assemblies for dimensional accuracy, workmanship, and proper function. Perform incoming material inspections when required. Use basic measuring and inspection equipment to verify product requirements. Identify nonconforming materials, components, or assemblies. Maintain accurate inspection and quality records. Follow established quality procedures and document-control requirements. Support in-process and final inspection activities. Testing Support Prepare components, fixtures, or test articles for evaluation. Assist with or perform testing according to established procedures. Use applicable test equipment and analytical instrumentation. Record test results accurately. Communicate unusual results, equipment concerns, or product issues to appropriate personnel. Assist engineering and production teams with technical testing activities as required. Documentation Complete production travelers, inspection records, assembly documentation, and related manufacturing records. Maintain detailed records of parts, assembly operations, inspections, and test activities. Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and traceable. Follow established procedures for document control and production recordkeeping. Work Area & Equipment Organization Maintain a clean and organized production and work area. Properly store tools, equipment, materials, and inspection devices. Support routine cleaning and organization of shop or laboratory equipment. Follow established housekeeping and workplace organization standards. Safety & Compliance Follow all health, safety, and workplace procedures. Use required personal protective equipment. Follow established practices for material handling, equipment operation, and quality control. Maintain awareness of hazards associated with tools, machinery, test equipment, and production materials. Support a safe and professional manufacturing environment. Required Qualifications Previous experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, fabrication, composites, machining, testing, or a related technical environment. Strong mechanical aptitude. Experience using hand and power tools. Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and work instructions. Basic math skills. Strong attention to detail. Good organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to follow detailed production, quality, and safety procedures. Dependable attendance and reliable work habits. Preferred Qualifications Experience assembling mechanical components or devices. Experience working with composite materials. Hands-on machining or fabrication experience. Experience using inspection or measurement equipment. Experience with test methods, test equipment, or analytical instrumentation. Experience working from engineering drawings. Experience in a quality-controlled manufacturing environment. Familiarity with in-process and final inspection procedures. Experience with production documentation and traceability requirements. Perform repetitive hands-on assembly tasks. Bend, reach, kneel, and work around production equipment. Lift, move, and position parts, tools, and materials. Use hand and power tools safely. Perform detailed visual inspections. Work around manufacturing and test equipment. Wear required personal protective equipment. Work Environment This position operates in a technical manufacturing environment and may involve: Working around hand tools, power tools, machining equipment, and test equipment. Performing mechanical assembly and fabrication activities. Supporting inspection and testing operations. Working with production materials and technical components. Following structured quality, safety, and documentation procedures. Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
