Disassembler Sunbelt Solomon United States, Tennessee, Decatur 201 Polymer Drive (Show on map) Aug 03, 2026 The DisassemblerTechnician is responsible for utilizing hand and power tools to disassemble single phase and polemount transformers. Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards and company policies are essential functions of this role. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:30pm. Read and follow work order instructions
Gather parts and tools that are needed for the work order and ensure they are in good working condition prior to usage.
Disassemble and sort transformer parts for reuse and scrap.
Utilize shop equipment and tools safely and appropriately. Return equipment to proper location once usage is complete.
Usage of material handling equipment may be needed to perform job tasks.
Maintain safe, clean, and orderly workstation.
Other assigned duties as needed.
HS Diploma/GED preferred.
Mechanical and transformer experience preferred.
OSHA10 certification preferred.
Material handling equipment experience (forklift, crane, etc.) preferred.
Proven track record in safety excellence is required.
Adheres to all safety and environmental compliance regulations set by the organization. Notify management immediately of any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries.
Ability to read and interpret work orders.
Meet department and production goals set by supervisor.
Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations.
Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail and can work in a team environment.
Adheres to the company's employee handbook policies and embodies the organization's core values.
Ability to learn other department job functions and fill in as needed.
Complete company compliance and safety training when required.
Ability to work a flexible schedule and work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
Physical requirements for this role include, but are not limited to the following: Lift 50lbs floor to waist and waist to shoulder multiple times
Standing and walking for long durations
Bending, squatting, and kneeling multiple times for long durations
The ability to climb up and down a ladder multiple times
Balance and stand on a ladder with three points of contact for extended periods of time
Comfortable working in the heat and cold due to manufacturing facilities not being climate controlled
