Assembler
Job Description
Position Summary The Assembler is responsible for safely operating equipment and completing hose assembly processes while maintaining acceptable quality and productivity levels. This position involves assembling and inspecting hose products, following customer and manufacturing specifications, performing pressure testing, and maintaining accurate production records. Previous production experience is preferred but not required. Training is provided. Key Responsibilities Help ensure finished products meet or exceed customer quality expectations. Identify and follow special instructions and customer requirements. Access setup sheets and production information from the computer. Select the appropriate tooling, crimp dimensions, drawings, and pressure ratings. Pull components needed to process orders. Inspect tubing and hose before processing. Measure and verify hose and crimp dimensions against drawings and established requirements. Assist with maintaining accurate inventory. Create and apply labels to finished hose products. Complete production reports accurately. Perform pressure testing of hose assemblies. Follow all quality standards, procedures, and guidelines. Maintain accurate production and quality records. Keep the work area clean and organized and follow 5S practices. Identify and report equipment problems, quality issues, or unusual conditions to the Value Stream Team Lead. Work with Maintenance to help resolve equipment-related issues. Participate in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and team-based improvement activities. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or GED. Previous production or manufacturing experience preferred but not required. Willingness to complete approximately 18 weeks of on-the-job training, with training potentially extending to 10 weeks if needed. Basic computer skills. Good math, reading, and writing skills. Strong attention to detail and product quality. Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to make sound decisions and follow established procedures. Ability to continuously monitor equipment and product quality. Ability to recognize changes in machine sounds and take appropriate action. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Must pass required pre-employment screening. Physical Requirements Candidates must be able to- Stand and walk for extended periods. Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Frequently bend, twist, turn, reach, squat, kneel, push, and pull. Reach below the knee and above shoulder level. Lift materials above shoulder level. Perform repetitive physical tasks while maintaining attention to quality. Demonstrate good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Work Environment Manufacturing environment with high noise levels from machinery and equipment. Potential hazards associated with operating machinery and moving reels. Steel-toe shoes, eye protection, and hearing protection are required. Extended periods of standing and physical activity are required. Flexible hours and short-notice overtime may be required.
