$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Job description: Assembly Technician Job Overview BCS Switchgear is seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined Assembly Technician to join our growing manufacturing team in Pilot Point, Texas. We design and manufacture custom electrical switchgear and power distribution equipment for customers across the United States. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling switchgear cabinets, components, and related equipment according to engineering drawings, bills of materials, and work instructions. This is a hands-on position well suited for someone who enjoys building things, working with tools, solving problems, and taking pride in producing a quality finished product. Previous switchgear experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with mechanical, manufacturing, automotive, construction, fabrication, or equipment assembly experience are encouraged to apply. What You'll Do Assemble switchgear cabinets and electrical equipment according to engineering drawings and work instructions Install doors, panels, brackets, supports, hardware, and other mechanical components Install breakers, switches, insulators, bus supports, and other switchgear components Assemble and install copper bus and related hardware as required Measure, align, fit, and adjust components to ensure proper assembly Read and interpret mechanical drawings, layouts, bills of materials, and assembly instructions Use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and measuring equipment Verify correct components and hardware are being installed Inspect completed work for fit, alignment, quality, and completeness Identify and communicate drawing, material, or assembly issues Assist with troubleshooting and correcting assembly discrepancies Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area Follow company safety and quality procedures Support other production and assembly needs as required What We're Looking For Strong mechanical aptitude Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to read and follow drawings, measurements, and work instructions Ability to safely and effectively use hand and power tools Ability to accurately use tape measures and other measuring tools Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable and punctual Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Ability to lift, carry, position, and assemble components as needed Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check Preferred Qualifications Previous switchgear, electrical equipment, manufacturing, mechanical assembly, fabrication, construction, or automotive experience Experience reading mechanical or electrical drawings Experience assembling industrial equipment or electrical enclosures Experience using torque wrenches and other precision assembly tools Experience working with copper bus or electrical distribution equipment Forklift or material-handling experience Candidates with strong mechanical ability and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply even if they do not meet every preferred qualification.
