The Lay-up Tech will be responsible for interpreting drawings, cutting and shaping core materials, and assembling final products. The ideal candidate should have expertise in painting, composites, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work with various hand and power tools. A strong candidate would have knowledge of hand lay up and fabrication of uncured fiberglass and core materials into complex aircraft structures.
Responsibilities:
  • Performs composite "flat panel" lay-up, fabrication and assembly tasks
  • Read and interpret drawings to determine project specifications
  • Cut, shape, and assemble raw materials according to measurements
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools to fabricate parts
  • Operates CnC for trimming panels, cut miscellaneous shipping parts
  • Operate forklift for lifting heavy materials
  • Perform quality checks to ensure products meet standards
  • Adhere to safety protocols at all times
Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of hand tools and power tools
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read drawings/blueprints
  • Experience in building and assembly processes
  • Experience in aircraft cabinet building is preferred.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
  • Composite drilling and bonding (plus)
  • Composite bagging and forming (plus)

We are locally owned and operated in San Antonio, Texas, where we have been in business since 1999. Technical Composites has recently expanded to provide even more products to our customers.
